Michael

Michael Lium-Hall began having visions of community acupuncture several years ago as he was sitting in an acupuncture class. The visions continued until he saw them come to life during his first visit to Working Class Acupuncture in Portland. He returned home, inspired to take this movement into Canada, and construct his vision of hemma in Victoria, BC, where he lives with his wife and two children. Since creating hemma community acupuncture clinic he has dedicated his work and teaching to the continued growth of community style acupuncture in Victoria and throughout North America

Having had a life-long interest in holistic approaches to health and healing, Michael was initially drawn to study complementary medicine, as a result of his sister’s battle with polymyocitis. Since then he has accumulated more than fifteen years of study and practice in the fields of; Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture, Massage, Yoga Therapy, Addictions, Music Therapy, and Organizational Psychology, all of which inform his practice. He is a Registered Acupuncturist, Body-worker, and Yoga therapist, and an instructor at the Pacific Rim College. He is also a board member for the Community Acupuncture Network, and a member of NADA: The National Acupuncture Detox Association.
