Restorative Yoga and the Cellular Breath
w/ Jenn Piercy
Saturday December 4th 1-4pm $50

Enjoy a soothing December afternoon rejuvenating yourself at a cellular level! Did you know that your entire body contains about 75 trillion cells? The cells are the ground matrix from which all other states, both physical and psychological, evolve.
Although cellular respiration is influenced by the way we lung breathe, it has its own distinct rhythm that is different from external respiration. Many people describe a gentle pulsing, shmmering, tingling or glowing sensation in the body at the level of the cells.
Any area of the body where there is chronic tension will have reduced capacity for cellular respiration. Where cellular breathing is taking place freely the cells are alive, vital, and healthy - where cellular breathing is restricted, the cells are in a state of struggle, confusion and disorder.
Restorative Yoga is an ideal practice to tune into cellular breathing. The focus in Restorative poses is effortless - you are learning to harness energy without spending energy. This facilitates both deep relaxation as well as generating the conditions for cellular renewal.
This session features therapeutic psotures using the support of props, allowing for longer holds to tap into the healing wisdom of stillness and deep states of yogic meditation. Participants can expect to come away understanding ways of dismantling common breath holding patterns and a heightened awareness of cellular energy.  Handouts and personal practice suggestions will be provided.

Health Talks with Nicci:
Breast Cancer… The Reality:
In Canada, 1 out of 9 women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime. This is our reality. That means in every yoga class there will be a few of us who have already been or will be diagnosed with breast cancer.
We are ALL living with cancer. Lifestyle, diet and environment determine the body’s inherent ability to either manage cancer cells or cause their replication to a point where we present with symptoms to our doctor and gain a diagnosis. Cancer grows silently from 0 – 109 cells, cancer is fatal at 1012 cells. This means healthcare practitioners have a window of 109 to 1012 cancer cells for treatment.
We can do something NOW to prevent breast cancer.
Nicci Parry will be sharing important research and lifestyle recommendations on how we can take steps to prevent breast cancer on Thursday 23rd September at 7.30pm
A $10 donation will go to the Harold Foster Foundation.

Please Note: No refunds will be given 7 days prior to workshop
