This picture was taken on a sunny day at the Calgary Zoo. I honestly don’t remember why the stern look, but I was so thrilled to be in the company of my family and the animals. I love the dress that I was wearing, paired with the dirty sneakers, especially with my dad’s high socks and cut offs. To me, this photo demonstrates the balance between the masculine and feminine within each of us. I spent most of my childhood playing rough, but enjoyed the occasional moments being a little lady. I have since come to realize that everything in life has a polarity, and to flow in the stream with ease and grace, we must honour and embrace both aspects to create our inner and outer harmony.
