In January 2020, Hemma will hold its first 200-hour Yoga teacher training! I am excited to be bringing this training to Hemma and Victoria.
I have taught 15 trainings in the last 9 years, and every one was different, inspiring and such a joy to be a part of. Each training is different in a way and reflects the students who show up to learn and grow together, as well as where the training is taking place.
A core curriculum is followed, but how things grow from that is always such an amazing process to watch and be a part of. The trainings in Greece were different from the ones in Egypt because they were serving different people. This training evolving here in Victoria is unique; it reflects where we are in the world and the challenges that we face in our lives in North America.
I’m also joined by very talented and experienced teachers, who add an incredible amount of knowledge and depth to the curriculum. Shivani Howe is the founder of Ishtadev Niwas Ashram and the non-profit Living Yoga Society and has completed over a thousand hours of intensive Yoga training and is a certified E-RYT 500 Yoga teacher and teacher trainer. She is an incredibly inspiring teacher and human being and to be quite honest, I want to study with her myself! So I asked if she could come to Hemma to be a part of this project and was delighted when she agreed.
Many of you already know Sarada Sarada Pranav Jagannath from Hemma and the classes she teaches here. She is bringing her intrinsic knowledge passed on to her from her ancestors and her passion to Yoga, Ayurveda, Sanskrit and Mantra. She is a certified Ayurvedic Wellness Practitioner training to be an Ayurvedic Doctor as well as a certified Counseling Psychologist and Hatha Yoga Teacher.
The training is unique in the fact that it offers a weekend immersion as part of the course. This is a more traditional way of learning yoga and a chance to live the yogic lifestyle. We will be in a retreat setting, waking up early to practice and learn together, within the beauty of nature. It gives us a chance to go a little slower and dive a little bit deeper.
We are also offering 2 mentorship places to certified yoga teachers, who would like to join the program and deepen their own teaching skills. This is the time-honoured traditional way of teaching in India, in which you work closely with your teacher, in order to grow.
The early bird price ends on November 1st! If you have any questions, please contact me for more information.
